Congratulations to "hockeystud94", this week's winner of the big "Sunday Million" tournament at PokerStars! He pocketed a very nice $166,000 (after a two-way deal at the final table), "Dunk_17" had to setttle for $116,516.66 for finishing second. On August 26th, the "Million" makes its once-a-month switch to a $530 buy-in.
A little earlier in the day on Sunday - in the $215 buy-in, $400,000 guaranteed "Warm Up" - "thechemist83" took out 2034 other players for a $79,853 payday. According to his profile at OfficialPokerRankings, that made a BIG difference to his annual profit! And "nederen_dk" can attribute almost all of his recent success to finishing second for $40,293.
The "Hundred Grand" - $11 buy-in and a $100,000 guarantee - drew a field of 18,359 on the 19th. "jogu68" would've moved out of the red for the year with a first-place prize of $18,359.01, but a six-way deal dropped his actual winnings to "only" $11,311, much less than what's recording in his OPR profile. Still, a very nice win. "bbdoll23" may only finish in the money about 10% of the time, but a runner-up prize of $9,204 goes a long way toward making that a profitable "ITM" number.
