This is another book that falls into the "not for beginners" category. In Killer Poker Online author John Vorhaus assumes you already know the rules and (at least) basic strategies of the game. This time he's spending his time addressing the differences between online and "offline" play and, more importantly, the factors that move you from merely competent to a good online poker player.

Killer Poker Online-Body

Chapters on "Money Management", "Mood Management", "Mind Management", and "Data Management" cover the primary organizational, mental, and psychological areas that Vorhaus considers important to becoming a good player of online poker. He goes on to delve further into the psychological issues in sections entitled "The Dark Side" and "Online Pitfalls". Once you've mastered the basics of poker (it that's really possible) the next step is mastering the issues related to the people who are playing - including yourself. Vorhaus uses his considerable writing skills to discuss issues that you may not consider on your own.

While it is a book that you can read through at your leisure and probably pick up valuable information, Killer Poker Online is meant to make you think. John Vorhaus offers little quizzes throughout the book as a way of checking yourself for comprehension. Take it or leave it, it's not a bad way of reinforcing the valuable information in the book. There are a lot of books out there that cover poker strategy, Killer Poker Online addresses issues that you won't find everywhere else.
